Overview | Itinerary | Meal Plan | Drinking Plan Voyage to ParadiseSummer 2003Planning BudgetAlthough still flexible, estimates are based on June 21st through June 29th, 2003. More details, including all the individual costs that make up the numbers below, will be coming soon. For early planning purposes and for a party of 4 couples expect the per-person cost before departure to be about $2,350. That cost will include airfare from Washington Dulles, boat charter, insurance, taxes, and all provisions (including alcohol) for meals on the boat. Allow $300 for meals ashore, and some amount for souvenirs (depending on your style). It is easy to keep the trip below $2,750 and I will be surprised if anyone manages to spend close to $3,000 without buying a lot of stuff to take home. I don't like financial surprises, so my estimates have a little extra room in them (about $100 per person total); money we don't spend on common expenses will be refunded. If we end up with a party of 3 couples, expect the total to be around $3,025 per person including meals ashore. We'll owe an initial payment of about 1/3 the boat charter cost and all the airfare, about $1,250 per person, when we confirm our reservations (in December? plan Christmas accordingly!). There will be an additional payment of about $650 per person for the remaining boat costs in March, and one for provisions and miscellaneous of about $450 per person in April. Early payments are welcome. Just think, when we step onto the plane for our holiday just about everything will already be paid for!
$450 each gets us an extra 3 days! Insurance provided (at our expense, included above) by The Moorings covers the following items. Our Yacht Security Insurance reduces possible financial liability should our yacht or equipment be damaged during your vacation. CharterCare Protection protects us from financial loss if for some reason we must cancel or delay our charter. CharterCare ensures that we may resume or reschedule our vacation at a later date in the event of family illness, jury duty, etc., or if our trip is interrupted. It also provides some medical coverage should anyone become ill or be injured during our Moorings charter. Life Aboard | Budget | Crew List | Packing |
