In Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas we will catch a ferry to Tortola. The ferry schedules are below, although they should be taken with a grain of salt. Ferries may leave late or (rarely) not at all. The ferry will take us to West End, Tortola for customs processing into the BVI. For continuing ferries (marked with an asterisk) you may reboard to continue to Roadtown (unless they decide not to); otherwise a taxi will take you to Roadtown. Ferry tickets are $22 or $23 one way, already accounted for in your payments. It should take about 90 minutes to reach Roadtown from Charlotte Amalie including customs processing time in West End and the final ferry ride (or taxi ride) to Roadtown. Charlotte Amalie is a shopping highlight so some may choose to linger a couple of hours before catching a later ferry. Others may want to push on to reach Roadtown and settle into the boat. For those who want some shopping time on St. Thomas, please do not miss the last ferry. After-hours customs processing bears additional fees, even if alternate transportation can be found. A Sunday morning ferry will impact our sailing plans for Sunday. Regardless, we should all proceed to the ferry docks (in the middle of the shopping district) from the airport to confirm schedules and agree on meeting times and places. Your skipper plans to proceed to Roadtown on a 2:00 or 2:30 ferry so 1) he can be done with traveling, which makes him happier and 2) he can get the boat checked out and finish the charter paperwork. At least one other person is needed to manage the arrival and storage of provisions. You may want to consider shipping purchases made in St. Thomas directly home to avoid any confusion in customs into the BVI or back into the U.S. at the end of our holiday. Saturday evening plans are for drinks at Pusser's in Roadtown (around 6?) followed by dinner at Spaghetti Junction at 7 or 7:30. From http://www.bvivacations.com/Ferry.html:
